Building on more than a decade of experience as an elected leader, Georgina Jolibois was elected MP for Desnethé—Missinippi—Churchill River in 2015.
Before entering Parliament, Georgina served four terms as Mayor of La Loche, overseeing significant growth, including the construction of a new subdivision. She often worked in partnership with local school boards to provide students with hands-on construction experience and opportunities to successfully transition into the workforce.
Georgina also served as chair of New North, promoting inclusive prosperity among Northern Saskatchewan municipalities. As well, she is a passionate supporter of initiatives to reconnect youth with their language and culture. Under her leadership, both New North and La Loche supported local scholarships and the crime prevention program Project Venture, which works with high-risk children and youth.
Georgina is a strong advocate for restorative justice and youth circles. She served nine years on the RCMP “F” Division’s Aboriginal Advisory Committee, working with law enforcement and other community partners to build safer communities in the North.
A champion for building resilient Northern communities, Georgina will be a strong voice for Desnethé—Missinippi—Churchill River in Ottawa.
